My Changes

For my own benefit(mostly), I wanted to list all the changes I have made in the past year (yes, today marks a year exactly that I decided to change my life).

1. Stopped eating fast foods.
2. Stopped eating junk foods (with the exception of a handful of chips or fries on rare occasions).
3. Stopped smoking.
4. Started exercising.
5. My skin is no longer dry and flaky.
6. My hair is no longer dull.
7. I can breathe when I am walking now.
8. Before, I had these dark marks on my fingernails and toenails, all gone now.
9. I can see my feet when I look down without having to push on my belly.
10. My menstrual cycle is more regular and not as heavy now.
11. I no longer suffer with insomnia.
12. I no longer sleep walk.
13. My sleep apnea went bye bye.
14. I am not on medicines for high blood pressure any longer.
15. I don’t have ulcer troubles anymore.
16. I don’t suffer with acid reflux or heartburn anymore.
17. I moved from Tennessee to New York.
18. I went from a size 28 to now size 16 and even 14 at times.
19. I don’t wear 4 x shirts anymore, I can wear large.
20. I stopped drinking a 12 pack of soda everyday, now I have 2 diet sodas in a week.
21. I drink water now, lots of it when before I cringed from it.
22. I have lost, to date, 133 pounds.
23. I stopped wanting to die and now I am eager to live and be alive.

There’s more, I am sure but those stand out for me at the moment. I am pretty dang proud of these changes.

The end, lol.

*I* Did It!!

I know I said I was done weighing for awhile and it has been about 2 weeks since I last weighed but curiosity got the better of me and I dug the scale out from the back of the closet and this is what I seen

Finally under 200 for the first time in 10 years!! I am so excited :D

Mmm…Bacon

Before I started this journey, bacon was a staple in my diet and the only pork product I ate. I haven’t had any bacon in over 6 months. My boyfriend doesn’t get off work until midnight so I normally get to bed at 1:30 am. Last night I was awaken by an awful smell. I got up and followed my nose which led me into the kitchen where my boyfriend was making himself blts. I was totally amazed and happy that not only did the bacon stink to me but also when I saw it laying there glinting and crispy..I wasn’t the least bit turned on to eat it. I like to believe that my love for bacon has passed and I am so happy happy for that. I use to eat a pack of it every 2 days but never again

Okay, I just wanted to share my happiness. You can all return to your regularly scheduled Buddyslim surfing .

Gold’s Gym Cardio

As a person who absolutely adores the Wii Fit rhythm boxing, I had to try out the Gold’s Gym Cardio for the Wii. My boyfriend bought it for me last night and I just finished 50 minutes. I have to say the first impression is pretty good for me. I really got into it and I am sweating quite a bit. It is fun and interesting and a good cardio workout. I recommend it for anyone who has a Wii .

I had a punch total of 426 and my physical age shows as 22 there (which I am loving ). I was a bit frustrated to see the game version of myself puff up when I entered my weight but I know I am not slender so I quickly got past that, hehe.

If anyone else has it, how do you like it and how long do you use it in your workouts?

Eating healthy for cheap

I am on a *very tight* budget. I am looking for new foods that are cheap and last for more than a serving or two. For personal reasons, I don’t eat dried beans or red meat.

At the moment, my diet consists mostly of the following -

Oats

Eggs

Apples

Oranges

Lettuce

Tomatoes

Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt

Tuna

Whole wheat bread

Multigrain saltines

canned greenbeans, carrots and spinach

boneless, skinless chicken breast strips

Any other cheap suggestions?

My New Fitness Routine

I am thinking along the lines of this…

Day 1
10am - Wii Fit Advanced Step - 30 minutes
1pm - Cardio circuit - 30 minutes
4pm - Wii Fit Expert Rhythm Boxing - 30 minutes

Day 2
10am - Wii Fit Advanced Step - 30 minutes
1pm - Strength circuit - 30 minutes (includes weights of 5 pounds)
4pm - Wii Fit Expert Rhythm Boxing - 30 minutes

Day 3
10am - Wii Fit Advanced Step - 30 minutes
1pm - Combo circuit - 30 minutes (includes weights of 5 pounds)
4pm - Wii Fit Expert Rhythm Boxing - 30 minutes

Day 4
REST

Then repeat the cycle.

The times do not include warm ups or cool downs, which I do.

So…what do ya’ll think?

Changes

A few things I am gonna change starting today concerning my diet or whatever you want to call it.

First of all, this week I am taking the whole week off from calorie counting and exercising. That doesn’t mean I am gonna sit on my ass gorging on fattening foods, it just means I am not gonna be counting every morsel I eat or doing any exercise…just for this week. Next Wednesday I will go back on track and do what I’ve been doing. I am just hoping this will sorta shock my body or shake things up or something!

Second of all, I am done weighing. I am gonna measure my success (or God forbid, failure) by my clothes sizes. All the scale obsession and worry is over. I can’t deal with it anymore and I refuse to let myself get deterred because of numbers on a scale.  I just am done with it.

I guess that’s it for now.
